CHAMPIONSHIP INFORMATION

POLICIES, PROCEDURES, & GUIDELINES:

 

FORMAT:

  • 54-hole stroke play championship
  • 72 players will play 36-holes on Monday, June 19.
  • Cut to the low 30 scores and ties for the final 18-holes on Tuesday, June 20.
  • Awards will be given to those who finish in 1st through 5th place. In the event of a tie for first place, there will be a three-hole aggregate playoff immediately following the conclusion of regular play.

 

REGISTRATION:

All players should check in at the SCGA table outside the golf shop. Registration will begin at 6 a.m.

 

PRACTICE ROUNDS:

  • Players may plan for practice rounds at their own expense.
  • To book a practice round, call the Pauma Valley CC Golf Shop at (760) 742-3721 after June 10th.
  • Practice Round Availability: Saturday and Sunday, June 17-18 after 1 p.m.
  • Practice Round Fee:  $75 (cart included). 
  • Practice rounds are a privilege, not a right. The SCGA works with a variety of facilities throughout the course of the year, all of which have unique policies and procedures when it comes to practice rounds. These opportunities will be provided at the sole discretion of the host facility.
  • We are guests and must follow all facility policies and guidelines when on property. Behavior during practice rounds will be subject to the SCGA Code of Conduct.

 

STARTING TIMES AND PAIRINGS: 

  • Starting times and pairings will be e-mailed to players and posted on scga.org/midam one week in advance of the championship.
  • Starting times for Round 1 will range from 7:00 a.m. to 8:50 a.m. off Holes #1 & #10.
  • Starting times for Round 2 will range from 12:30 p.m. to 2:20 p.m. off Holes #1 & #10.
  • Starting times for Round 3 will range from 7:30a.m. to 8:40 a.m. off Holes #1 & 10.
  • Lead groups should plan to be at their assigned tee 10 minutes in advance of their starting time. Subsequent groups are encouraged to arrive once the preceding group has teed off. Players arriving late will be penalized under Rule 5.3a of the Rules of Golf. For example, the 9:00 a.m. starting time is defined as 9:00:00, and players arriving after that time are considered late.

 

TEES & YARDAGE:   

  • All yardages and course information can be found in the Yardage Information tab located on the Championship Portal.

 

DRIVING RANGE:

  • The driving range will be available by 6 a.m. on each morning of the championship.  
  • Range balls will be provided compliments of Pauma Valley CC and the SCGA.

 

FOOD SERVICE & PURCHASES:

  • The snack bar will be open at 6:30 a.m. each day.
  • All participants will receive lunch on each day of the championship
  • Credit cards will be the only form of payment accepted for purchases at the snack bar.  No cash.

 

RULES OF PLAY:

 

GOLF CARTS, PULL/PUSH CARTS:

  • During a round, a player and/or caddie must not ride on any form of motorized transportation except as authorized or later approved by the Committee. Model Local Rule G-6.
  • Players seeking to use a golf cart due to a medical or ADA-related reason must contact the USGA in advance of the qualifier.
  • Pull or push carts (including motorized pull or push carts) are allowed.

 

CADDIES & SPECTATORS:

  • Players may provide their own caddie (see the section on golf carts).
  • Spectators are permitted but are not allowed in carts. Spectators must adhere to all policies set forth by the facility.

 

DRESS CODE:

Appropriate golf attire must be worn, including adhering to any facility-specific policies.

 

CANCELATIONS & REFUNDS:

  • To withdraw for any reason prior to the start of an SCGA competition, a player must notify the SCGA Championships & Golf Operations Department at champs@scga.org.
  • Failure to notify the SCGA will subject the player to suspension from future SCGA competitions.
  • Refund Policy:
    • Cancelation prior to the entry closing date: Full refund less a $20 administrative fee.
    • Cancelation after the entry closing date and more than 48 hours prior to the start of the competition: 50% of the entry fee.
    • Cancelation within 48 hours of the start of the competition: No refund.
